............. Debbie came to us as a young mare who had already foaled following a chance encounter with a young stallion! Yes, that is Debbie through and through!!
An extremely 'native' mare in her attitude although good to do in all respects. Bred by the late Bill Protheroe of the Dulas Stud, she retains to this day the instincts of a hill mare and to me is the epitome of a welsh mare.
Since coming to Marchell - Debbie has only ever been covered by Erwfforch Dewin Direudus .Her first foal for us was Marchell Mab Y Dewin and subsequently she bred for us Marchell Mimosa and then was loaned to Pentaran for a season for whom she bred Pentaran Blackadder (Hendrewen Deryn) . Sadly a colt foal was then lost at birth however in 2006 we were presented with Marchell Perpetual Motion. We hope that this filly will be retained for an eventual career under saddle and follow in the footsteps of her very talented siblings.
