Artificial Insemination

At Welsh Sport Horses we provide  an A.I.service from Derwen Trot On   

 **** In addition, we can provide semen from any UK stallion offered by chilled semen  A.I. and also any European stallion, offered under the same terms.

We provide either FRESH or CHILLED semen. We do not currently provide a service for frozen semen.

FACILITIES

• Stocks for safe handling of mares                         
• Secure dummy mare  for semen collection            
•  All necessary equipment for semen analysis         

A.I. Package 2011 Season

MARE A.I. PACKAGE 2011.

We offer a very competative rate for our services and in association with Dewi Williams MRCVS, of the Bodrwnsiwn Veterinary Group, we are able to provide a 'Vets Package' to cover the attention to your mare. Very often mares for A.I. can be with us for as little as one week (eg arrive Thursday evening, scan to ascertain status Friday, induce season if necessary, re scan Monday / Tuesday, inseminate Tue /Wed, re scan Thurs to ensure ovulation  and then home.) Obviously there will be variations and length of stay may vary.

Costs will be - Stallion Fee (Individually priced) . - The  Vet package costs £250 .

This price covers:

• one week keep for your mare,
• pre insemination scans,
• cycle enhancing drugs,
• insemination,
• post insemination scans (but not pregnancy scan)  

Any additional keep will be charged at :

Grass / stabled  ~ £5.00 per day  ~ (this includes supplimentary hard feed and haylage as required)

Farriery and any additional veteriary costs will be charged on top.

**** Our Terms are offered on a strict NFFR policy (no foal, free return). This is conditional on mares being scanned following insemination / covering and that we be notified by 1st October of the status of the mare. In the event that we are NOT notified, the NFFR Terms will not apply.
